Intent
Within the Amersham Physical Education Department we passionately deliver a nationally recognised “Gold” standard curriculum that is broad, inclusive and instils the values that benefits students lifelong love of learning while drawing out grit and determination. Students will flourish in a professionally fun and positive environment, while trying to improve their personal best to become physically literate.
Students are inspired into sport through positive relationships with staff based on humour and respect, and furthered through up to date knowledge of the sporting world and events. They will understand and value the importance of being active and hungry to continue life long physical mental well-being. Students are supported to participate in a growing number of extra-curricular activities with the continued focus on the process and development, not the outcome or result.
When engaged in their learning they will embrace new challenges, take risks and be bold in their pursuits to progress. Students are encouraged to fail and become reflective on their learning process through mistakes.
Our learners will demonstrate positive values centred around mutual respect individualisation and consideration for others. Through their journey our learners will be empowered to transfer knowledge across disciplines and activities. They will be proud of the successes of themselves, their peers, their school and the nations sporting history and accomplishments.
