Intent

We aim to inspire awe and wonder in every student, in every lesson. Students will be hungry to know more about the planet and human influences on it in both the built and natural environment. Students are empowered with the skills to be reflective and discerning contemporary global citizens where they can justify their opinions about global issues. Fieldwork is integral to student understanding at a local, national and global scale. We aim to challenge stereotypes and misconceptions about topical issues.

Homework

KS3

Every 12 weeks students will receive a home learning grid. Every week students can pick an activity to complete and submit via Teams to their teacher, this could be photos, sound bites or even models. They must choose from each category so at the end of each cycle they can spell CIRCLE, it cannot all be from one or two columns. Once completed they will receive a stamp on their learning passport, each completed cycle can be exchanged for a certificate and at the end of the year if all 3 cycles are completed students will receive a History golden star badge. Please upload all work to the Teams assignment. This is an ongoing homework with the expectation one activity is completed each week.

KS4

Homework will be set on Seneca Learning (please see parent mail for details of how to support your child with this), in addition to homework which will mostly be research tasks or exam practice. Students should expect to receive at least 2 pieces of homework a week.

KS5

Students should expect to spend a minimum of 4 hours per week engaging in Geography work outside of lessons. This should include completing homework, revision, wider reading and research and completing exam practice. If students feel that they have completed all required work, they should refer to the '10 things to do when you have nothing to do' document below.
