Intent
Our aim is to ensure that the study of Drama enables our students to become self-confident individuals, collaborative team players, empathetic, considerate and well-rounded citizens. Drama is a set of skills that can be used in any aspect of everyday life and allow our students to feel empowered and confident in the ‘real’ world. Students will develop an understanding of society and a broad world view, gain skills that will allow them to express themselves by using their imagination and creativity. Through our learning, we coach self-discipline and effective self-management in a professional environment, alongside the idiosyncratic life lesson of reflecting on your personal strengths whilst reflecting on your areas for development. Students who chose to further their study past Key Stage 3, will gain knowledge of theatre history and important influential practitioners in Drama and Theatre.
