Amersham School

The Peter Jones Enterprise School Award

Our school is an official member of the Peter Jones Enterprise Foundation and have ‘Award’ status.

This initiative is designed to recognise and nurture an enterprising culture supporting ‘learning by doing’.

Founded by entrepreneur and star of Dragons’ Den Peter Jones CBE, the Award helps create a thriving enterprise culture with the ultimate goal of providing an effective bridge between education and industry.  By focusing on teamwork, communication, creativity, innovation, problem solving, business acumen and entrepreneurial attributes, it enhances the development of students’ enterprise skills which can enhance UCAS applications, CVs, applications for apprenticeships and improve employability.

Amersham School have entered the prestigious ‘Tycoon in Schools’ competition which was launched in 2012 by Peter Jones CBE and supported by the Department for Business Innovation and Skills and referenced in Lord Young’s ‘Enterprise for All’ review.  Business students have embraced the challenge of writing their business plans and are now trading with all loans personally authorised by Peter Jones.  Please support our students who will be trading with a plethora of Christmas gifts and wonderful services including car cleaning, dog walking and pet grooming – they will be trading in and out of school in the run up to the Christmas break.

‘The entrepreneurial spirit at Amersham School is exceptional with all participating students creating innovative business plans, embracing the challenge and getting real business experience.’
