Polish School Amersham

St Joseph’s Polish Saturday School in Amersham (Polish School Amersham) has been working with the young people of Polish heritage since the end of the World War 2 and has been located at Amersham School site since November 2005.

We are a supplementary school which means that our students go through the English educational system and on Saturdays we provide them with extra Polish studies. We are also a registered charity (Charity Number 1162078, England and Wales).

The school caters for all levels of language for children from Reception to Year 13.

Polish language classes include aspects of Polish history, geography, culture and traditions. There are also religious education lessons as the school has a Catholic ethos. We have very strong links with the local Polish community: the Polish Parish, the Polish Club and the Polish Scouting Association.

Our practical aim is to prepare our students for GCSE and A-level examinations in Polish as a Modern Foreign Language and thus equip them better for the future by providing them with extra qualifications. Even more importantly, we strive to create a community, to teach students all things Polish and to make them feel proud about their Polish heritage.

09:30 – 13:00, every Saturday during term times, as per school calendar

Membership fee for 2021-2022 - £260 per child per year (small discounts for siblings, please contact us for details). The fee includes the cost of text books, exercise books, materials, prizes and school events.

Polska Szkola Przedmiotów Ojczystych im. Sw. Józefa w Amersham prowadzi zajecia z mlodzieza polskiego pochodzenia od lat powojennych. Od listopada 2005 r. znajdujemy sie na terenie Amersham School.

Jestesmy szkola uzupelniajaca, co oznacza, ze nasi uczniowie zdobywaja wyksztalcenie w angielskim systemie edukacji a dodatkowe zajecia w sobote obejmuja tzw. przedmioty ojczyste. Mamy równiez status organizacji pozytku publicznego (Registered Charity Number 1162078, England and Wales).

Przyjmujemy dzieci z róznym poziomem znajomosci jezyka polskiego od zerówki do klas maturalnych. 

Zajecia z jezyka polskiego uzupelniane sa elementami polskiej historii, geografii, kultury i tradycji. Program szkolny obejmuje takze lekcje religii katolickiej.  Wspólpracujemy z lokalna wspólnota polska: parafia, Klubem Polskim i polskim harcerstwem.

Praktycznym celem zajec jest przygotowanie naszych uczniów do egzaminów GCSE i A-level z jezyka polskiego jako obcego (egzamin gimnazjalny i maturalny) jako, ze dodatkowe kwalifikacje i umiejetnosci zwiekszaja szanse i mozliwosci mlodych ludzi wchodzacych w dorosle zycie. Jednak, celem jeszcze waznejszym jest dla nas tworzenie spolecznosci, uczenie dzieci i mlodziezy "wszystkiego co polskie", aby nie zapomnieli o swojej polskosci i byli z niej dumni.

Zajecia 09:30 – 13:00 w kazda sobote roku szkolnego, zgodnie z kalendarzem szkolnym.

Oplata czlonkowska za rok szkolny 2021-2022 - £260 rocznie od dziecka (male znizki dla rodzenstwa, prosimy o kontakt). W oplate wliczony jest koszt podreczników, zeszytów, materialów, nagród i imprez szkolnych.
