Extended Curriculum - 'The Amersham Offer'
We believe that the learning students do outside of the classroom is equally as important as what happens within the classroom. Therefore, we offer a breadth of extended curriculum opportunities which we actively encourage our students to become involved with. The clubs and activities we offer are very much driven by student demand and include:
- Business and Enterprise activities
- Drama club
- STEM club
- 1-1 instrumental tuition and music clubs
- ICT club
- Art club
- Sports: football, rugby, hockey, netball, basketball, tennis, badminton, cricket, trampolining, athletics, rounders, table tennis (practices and matches)
- House competitions - Spelling Bee, Bake Off, House dance, House drama, House X Factor, Countdown
- Trips in the UK and abroad– water sports, skiing, museum visits, residential language trips, art gallery and theatre trips
- Duke of Edinburgh Bronze, Silver and Gold
- Team building and leadership days
- Talent shows
- School productions
- Charity days and events
- Mindfulness and Yoga
- LGBT+ Group
- School Council
- Green club
Students get a great deal of pleasure and enjoyment from taking part in these activities, developing valuable skills and making new friends, and they are considered a very important part of school life.
