Good News

Mrs D, mum of children in Years 9 and 11, sent the following e-mail to us ... (March 2016)

As the mother of [two children],   I could not be more thrilled that they are at Amersham School. Since joining you they have both flourished. Not just academically but in a thoroughly rounded way. I am incredibly proud of them both and this is in no small part thanks to #TeamAmersham.

David Bridges, School Governor, wrote to us following his visit on Friday 26 February 2016.

Thank you for allowing me, as a Governor, to come into school to support Mrs Franks' BTec Business Students. I came in last Monday and again today. I hope to follow this up with visits next week on Monday and Tuesday. All the students I worked with were extremely welcoming.

After my work in the classroom I took the opportunity to visit the LRC, the playground and the dining hall during the lunch hour.

It was wonderful to see all the students so well engaged and to witness the positive relationship they have with each other and members of staff. Without exception, the students I came across were extremely courteous and there was a tangibly positive atmosphere across the school. None of these things were a surprise to me but gratifying nonetheless!

I would just like to thank Mr Knox for the Geography Exam Support Session held this evening. It was a very useful and informative meeting. I would also say how pleased I am that Mr Knox is teaching my daughter Geography and can see why she is enjoying a subject taught in such an engaging, interesting and concise way.  (February 1 2016)

Victoria from Sheffield University recently worked with us to gain some experience in the classroom.

I am just emailing to thank you ever so much for allowing me to do several days shadowing experience last week at the school, for which I am very grateful. The short time that I spent with yourself, your colleagues and some of the students was of great value and really gave me an insight into the teaching profession itself. I would also like to add how impressed I was with the fantastic level of teaching within the English and Drama departments, and the students who were always well behaved, engaged and made me feel very welcome. It seems a very happy learning environment - both to teach and to study.

I would of course, be very interested in returning in the summer and hope this can still be a possibility.

Best of luck for the new year ahead and look forward to working at the school again in the near future.

Kind regards,
