Key Stage 3

At Key Stage 3, students embark on a two year personalised learning journey by studying all National Curriculum subjects.

In their first half term students study a skills-based curriculum which focuses on the key enterprise skills of Communication, Interpersonal, Research, Creative Learning and Effective Self-Management (CIRCLE).  These transferable skills are embedded in all subjects through the Key Stage 3 curriculum.

Learning is accelerated to give flexibility to meet each of our students' individual needs, whilst maximising performance and engagement in the curriculum.  Student progress and performance are assessed through regular Teacher Assessment, as well as the end of Key Stage examinations taken later in the year.

The number of lessons over the school week timetable in Key Stage 3 is :
English, Mathematics, Science 3 lessons
Physical Education 2 lessons
History, Geography, Humanities (RS & PSHCE) 1 lesson
Modern Foreign Languages (French or Spanish) 2 lessons
Technology (Information, Design and Food) : Carousel 2 lessons

Students are set for English, Mathematics and Science in Key Stage 3 to ensure all students fulfil their potential.

Each lesson lasts for 75 minutes.
